- Agra (210 km). B'fast at 800 hrs. leave for Agra at 9.00 am,
enroute, stopping to see the Agra Fort & tomb of Itmadudaullah.

- Jaipur (250 Km). After B'fast, check out of the hotel (9.00
am) & proceed to the Taj Mahal, "
The immediate impact
of Taj is dazzling: a spiritual wonder hovering between the real
and unreal, incredibly beyond all the clichés that have ever
been written about it"
Thereafter, on way to Jaipur, stop
to see Fatehpur Sikri, the 16th century city founded by the greatest
Mughal, Jalal ul deen Akber. Now home to orchestra of nature, in
the form of chirping birds, a strikingly quiet place in the daily
carnival, that is India. Arrival in Jaipur late evening. Overnight
at Hotel KK Royal Days/Shahpura House.

Jaipur.

- Ranthambore (180km). After B'fast, proceed at 8.00 to Ranthambore.
This was the private game reserve & hunting gounds of the maharajas
of Jaipur. The last tiger was shot by Queen Elizabeth, in 1962,
before this most beautiful animal was declared protected. The jungle
is home to an amazing variety of animals including the Sambhar,
Blue bull, Leopards, cheetals & crocodiles that manifest the
huge lakes.
Go for photo safari, on a pickup truck, in this awful setting, overlooked
by the ancient fort, scene of many a battle between the Hindu chivalry
& valour, against the marauding Khiljis, of West Asia.

- Udaipur (355 Km). B'fast, at 8.00 & leave for Udaipur
at about 8.30 am. The winding road passes through some of the most
spectacular landscapes of Rajasthan. You can see men & women
at work, on their fields. Shepherds tending to their flocks. Arrival
late evening in Udaipur. Overnight in Hotel Partap Country Inn/Shikarbari. |

Udaipur. The chief of the Rajput clans, stayed in grass huts
with his family & vassals, when driven out of Chittor his capital,
by the tyrannical Mughals, a not unfamiliar saga of sacrifice &
bravery in the annals of Rajasthan. The city palace is built, exactly
on the location of these huts, in the days of yore.
Full day sight seeing tour of the city palace, crystal gallery (the
largest collection in the world) & museum. Evening boat ride
around the lake palace hotel.

Udaipur
- Mount Abu (180km). After B'fast, proceed to Mount Abu to visit
the Delwara Temples, open from noon to 6.00pm Stroll around the
Naki lake. Overnight in Hotel Mount Regency. |

Abu - Fort Dhamli (270 Km). B'fast partaken & check out,
proceed to Dhamli. The fort is in the middle of the semi-arid, desert
conditions of Rajasthan. The chief of Dhamli is a keen horseman
& maintains a stable of finest breed of Marwari Horses. Dinner
& overnight at fort Dhamli. |

- Nawalgarh (275 Km). Checkout after B'fast & leave for
Nawalgarh. This place fell directly on the silk route, the route
of trade & commerce between Delhi & Central Asian markets.
Many of the traders built grand patrician houses, decorated with
murals depicting scenes from myths, epics, folklore, and history,
including the British in India. These are fascinating social documents.
Overnight in Hotel Roop Niwas.

- Samode (150Km). Partake of B'fast & proceed to see the
Roop Niwas & Jandgid havelis. Drive there on to Samode. Overnight
in Samode Baug, a tented accommodation, inside a garden - very luxurious.
