DAY 01 Abroad - New Delhi. Day of journey - Arrival at International airport. Reception of guests, by representative, at the airport & transfer to Hotel. Hotel recommended at New Delhi is The Le Meridian le meridian hotel
DAY 02 Delhi. After B’fast, leave for full day sightseeing at 10:00am; to include a visit to Qutab Minar, the twin brother of the Gerald Towers (Spain), constructed in 1199, to mark the Eastern spread of Islam. The beauty of this Minar is breath taking; the India Gate, a war memorial to the one million Indian & British soldiers, who died fighting in the great war & strikingly similar to one in Paris; The National Museum; Drive past the North & South blocks & the erstwhile vice regal lodge on the Kingsway (now Rashtriyapati Bhawan on Rajpath); Chandni Chowk in a rickshaw, the business center of old Delhi; Sis Ganj, a Sikh temple, constructed to commemorate the sacrifice of the 9th Sikh apostle, defying Islamic religious bigotry & forcible proselytizing; Jama Masjid; a drive past William Fraser’s Bungalow, Church of James Skinner & the British cemetery (1808 – 1867). Overnight at your Hotel.
DAY 03 New Delhi – Jodhpur (By Jet Air). After B’fast transfer to domestic airport for catching the 12:05 flight to Jodhpur. Arrival around 13:25 hrs. Transfer to Taj Hari Mahal Hotel *****/Superior pool facing.
This evening we visit the Umed Bhawan Palace designed by HV Lanchaster. Avers Tillotson, ‘The finest example of Indo-Deco…the bland monochrome of the stone makes the eye concentrate on their carved shapes’. The views of the Mehrangarh Fort are stunning.

DAY 04 Jodhpur – Rohet (25 miles) After B’fast, checkout & drive to Rohet. On the way, visit the Mehrangarh Fort. The fort was built on the advice of a pious hermit & overlooks the blue city. It houses several palaces, cannons, temples & museum. Visit the cenotaphs of the Jodhpur princes at Mandore, replete with history, Shaivite & Jain architecture, a telling comment on, the gallant Jodhpur cavalry: “But for a handful of Barley, I nearly lost the throne of Hindustan”- Shah Afghan c.1540; & poverty of the princely state of Jodhpur. Proceed thereon to Rohet. Poolside dinner & overnight in Fort Rohetgarh (Heritage/lake view suites), in the heart of an Indian village, very romantic ambience with old world charm. Overnight in original heritage rooms.


DAY 05 Rohet – Ranakpur (89miles). This morning drive into the villages in a 4wd jeep to take an insight into the tribal culture of Bishnoi clans, renowned for game conservation & witness the opium ceremony, which will hugely amuse you, though originally a matter of grave political import. After B’fast drive to Ranakpur. On arrival visit the ancient Jain Temples. The temples date back to 15th century has 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars, none of which impedes the view of the deity. It abounds with intricate friezes & sculptures. Dinner & overnight in Hotel Fateh Bagh , a translocated ‘haveli’ resort, great ambience.
(Note: Ranakpur Jain temples do not permit leather goods like belts, wallets or purses to be taken inside. You are also requested to wear clothes that do not expose the body.)
DAY 06 Ranakpur – Udaipur (59 miles). After B’fast, leave for Udaipur. The road passes through some most beautiful sceneries of Rajasthan. Evening free for individual activities. Dinner & overnight in Hotel Trident-Hilton (Deluxe room).
DAY 07 Udaipur. Full day sightseeing tour of the city palace museum, one of the best in India, Crystal Gallery, Maharanas vintage car garage which houses some of the rarest Rolls Royse & a boating tour around the white marble Lake Palace Hotel. The ambience, history & locale of your stay, make Udaipur a tourist heaven. Dinner & overnight.
DAY 08 Udaipur – Chittorgarh – Bhainsrorgarh (147 miles). Drive to Bhainsrorgarh, after B’fast. On the way, visit the fort Chittorgarh, the mother of all forts in Rajasthan & teeming with reminiscences of glory, the ruins of which are testimony of the violent, struggle of the Hindu Rajputs against the marauding Moslem forces. Scene of mass acts of fealty committed by Hindu women thrice in medieval history. Reflects an English classicist “How doth the city sit solitary that was full of people! How is she become a widow! She, that was great among nations, and princess among provinces, how is she become a tributary!”
Bhaisrorgarh, the approach to this castle is by a ferry over the river Chambal, “most romantically situated upon the extreme point of a ridge, on an almost isolated rib of the Pat’har (plateau)…it overhangs the placid expanse of the river Chambal, it’s height above which is about 200 feet”. Dinner & overnight at Castle Bhainsrorgarh / Suites.
 
DAY 09 Bhainsrorgarh – Baroli – Kota (32 miles). B’fast partaken of, drive to Kota, visiting on the way, the temples of Baroli (4 miles), the 7th century, Shaivite temples, “to describe it’s stupendous & diversified architecture is impossible…Art here seems to have exhausted itself, and we were now perhaps for the first time, fully impressed with the beauty of Hindu sculpture. The columns, the ceiling, the external roofing, where each stone presents a miniature temple, one rising over another, until crowned by the urnlike Kullus, distracted our attention”. Drive on to Kota. Dinner & overnight in Umed Bhawan Palace / Grand Heritage.
 
DAY 10 Kota – Bundi – Swaimadhopur (103 miles). After b’fast, proceed on a half-day sightseeing of Bundi monuments, including the Bundi Palace, which is “the coup d’ ceil of the castellated palace of Bundi, from which ever side you approach, is perhaps the most striking in India”; the cenotaphs of the Hara kings & the Rani-ji-ki-Baori (step-well). Drive on to Swaimadhopur. Dinner & overnight in Swaimadhopur Lodge, built in the 1930’s for personal game hunting of the Maharajas of Jaipur, along with his English guests. Luxury tented accommodation, great ambience.
DAY 11 Swaimadhopur. Complete relaxation in the morning on the lawns or the swimming pool. After lunch drive to Ranthambhore National Park in a jeep. February is the time when all trees like the Androk, Garjan & Semul, Jamoah, Gular & Kaith are in full bloom, attracting a variety of birds. Painted spur fowl, partridges, bustard quail, Ospreys, peafowl are among 211 known varieties. Animals found in the park include the tiger, panthers, hyena, leopard cats & a no. of deer. Dinners in the teak-wood paneled dining room serving great ‘shikari’ dishes. Overnight.
DAY 12 Swaimadhopur – Jaipur (116 miles). Safari repeated this morning. After B’fast, drive on to Jaipur. Evening free for individual activities. Dinner & overnight in Hotel Shahpura House (Heritage/ Suites)
 
DAY 13 Jaipur. Full day sight seeing of the Palace of Wind; visit the city palace museum & the old observatory. From hereon we shall go to visit the Amber Fort, arriving at the gate on the back of a beautifully caparisoned Elephant.
7:30pm. Go to the restaurant in the Rambag Palace Hotel. This Palace Hotel was the residence of Maharaja of Jaipur & Maharani Gayatri Devi, who was declared the most beautiful women in the forties by American magazine – ‘The Vogue”. Awesome ambience. Dress code: smart casuals.

DAY 14 Jaipur – Agra (154 miles). After B’fast, Check out & drive to Fatehpur Sikri, a world heritage monument. Drive on to Agra. Dinner & overnight in Hotel Tajview.

DAY 15 Agra – New Delhi (132 miles). At 6:00 am this morning we shall go to see the Taj Mahal. Return to your hotel for B’fast & check out. Drive to New Delhi, after visiting the Agra Fort & Tomb of Itmaduddaullah. Dinner & overnight in The Radisson Hotel.

DAY 16 New Delhi – IGI Airport. Transfer to the airport to catch the midnight flight to next destination.
